Hello everyone!
If you've intentionally visited this blog it means you've answered the call to learn more about the Catholic faith!!
I have just recently started this free service with the intention of educating catholics and non-catholics of what the church really believes, and (for existant catholics) how to defend those beliefs. Many catholics do not educate themselves on what they truely believe, and why they believe it. As a result, many Catholics are easily torn away from the faith.
A Protestant evangelist may present the catholic with Matthew 23:9 and say "you are disobeying the bible by calling your priest 'father' and therefore are foresaking the law with your human traditions as Jesus warns against in Matthew 15:3." What is the Catholic to say to this? Most simply don't know how to respond to such accusations. That is the main reason we need to educate ourselves and know the bible!
In the next couple weeks i will lay out a few common objections to the catholic faith (^like that one^) and how to explain your faith. Then I plan on having a set ciriculum which i will also send out in an email which you can subscribe to by emailing me at lambssupper@gmail.com
Look for my first lesson sometime within the next week!
Until Next time
Peace in Christ,
Luke
Luke,
ReplyDeleteI think that it is great that you are writing such a meaningful blog! I would agree that the Catholic Church has had a few shortcomings in the last couple of decades with regards to how beliefs have been taught. While my faith in the Church is unshakable, I have had many friends who have had huge questions of faith. It is sad when people get confused by what they see and hear in their daily lives because they are unable to answer the questions that come up about their faith. Clint converted to Catholicism from Lutheranism before we were married and said that he may not have if people such as my parents, myself, Grandpa Steve, etc. were not able to answer some of the questions that he had about the faith. He has a good grasp on the Bible, but is no "re-learning" it in a different light -- I think that this would be a good blog for him to read as well. This blog is a great idea and I hope that it will help to educate those that read it about how to not only defend their faith, but also about how to be a better Catholic. I look forward to reading your next post!
